Abstract

The article present sthe main principles and criteria and the research projects developed at the international level in the area of digital preservation. It focuses on the critical issues in this environment and presents the first results of the ERPANET project. It considers also the discussion developed at the European level for defining an agenda and an action plan for the digital preservation initiatives at a European level
